I was checking the X8_01 device and it’s showing that the device is not online and wanted to see when the device would be available. I was running it during the times that were listed that it would be open. Thank you!

The device is indeed offline at the moment. I would suggest using simulators if possible for the time being.

I was looking at the simulon_gaussian in the meantime and with it using two modes, I was wondering how we would be able to go about creating a Catstate or a GKP state if that would be possible on hardware in another way?

You cannot create a cat state or a GKP state on X8. We have a series of three tutorials on the bosonic backend in Strawberry Fields. Here’s the first one. The bosonic backend is a simulator that can be used to simulate cat states and GKP states. Note that you can use Strawberry Fields locally on your computer, you don’t need Xanadu Cloud for this. As a final note, Strawberry Fields is in maintenance mode, meaning that we’re not adding new features to it.
