Hello to the beloved PENNY-SF developers, I’m asking when the reset attribute for the photon measurement operator will be added, it’s just too important for the delayed measurement of photons to be functionally sound. Also, how is it possible to reset the photon state to a vacuum state or any other state after a certain photon register has been measured? I don’t understand why the PENNY team isn’t updating the SF plugin, it looks so lovely to my eyes and could be improved in so many ways.
Hi @RX1, thank you for your kind words about the plugin.
However, as answered here, this is not a current functionality and will not be added either. If you’re interested in continuous variable quantum simulations I encourage you to try out MrMustard.
That being said, the plugin is open-source so you’re free to make your own fork of the plugin and update your own copy of it, adding any additional functionalities that you need.
Thank you for your answer, as Penny-SF is often used in academic papers, I find it very well known. Also in terms of programming syntax, it is more compatible with superconducting Penny. I think it is more concise and easier to understand compared to strawberryfields.
Hi @RX1, I totally understand.
You’re free to create a fork of the plugin and add any additional functionality that you may need.
