Hi,
I am interested in using strawberyfields to simulate an quantum optical network. The network will involve polarized beamsplitters. Does starwberryfields support this?
Matt
Hi horsley! – Welcome to the discussion forum. In strawberryfields we do not distinguish between path and polarization degrees of freedom. Any degree of freedom is treated like a mode.
A polarizing beamsplitter involves 4 modes, since there are two paths, each with two polarizations. Thus you can model a polarizing beamsplitter using a 4 mode program.
Hope this helps,
Nicolas
