Data encoding in CV setting using Xanadu hardware

Hello,

I have just started to use X8 device to run hardware tests. My intention is to check if the simulation of my quantum circuit can be reproduced using hardware tests.

I understand that the remote device is a gaussian boson sampler. So a two-mode squeezed state can be prepared and beamsplitter and phase rotation operations can be done and end with a fock-basis measurement.

So my question is, can I use the same to prepare a displaced squeezed state (given that a displacement gate is not supported)? Could I perhaps mix a squeezed state and a coherent state in a beamsplitter?

Regards,
Kannan

Hi @kannan_v — At the moment the hardware does not allow to apply displacement operations.
