I am performing some experiments for a report with the adjoint differentiation method. However, I am not really sure how it works at all. Would anyone be able to give me an overview of how gradients are measured in the circuit with this method?
The adjoint differentiation method for quantum variational circuits is quite new in the literature, so unfortunately there arenβt that many resources yet.
I recommend reading up some of the recent papers presenting this method on the arXiv. In particular, the PennyLane implementation is based on https://arxiv.org/abs/2009.02823.
After having a read through, feel free to ask any specific questions back here, and weβll be happy to help!
